The President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, has asked Serbia to reach a comprehensive agreement with Kosovo, which will focus on mutual recognition, reports Insajderi.

This is what he said in a congratulatory letter sent to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, on the occasion of the State Day of Serbia.

“On behalf of the American people, I express my sincere congratulations to you and your fellow citizens on the occasion of Serbia’s State Day on February 15,” says in the congratulatory message, reports b92.

“We encourage you to continue to take steps towards achieving European integration, including introducing the necessary reforms and reaching a comprehensive agreement on normalization with Kosovo, which focuses on mutual recognition”, Biden said in his congratulatory message to Vucic.

In his letter, the US president also confirmed US support for Serbia’s European integration.

“The strength of our relationship is based on the deep history of ties between our peoples who fought as allies in both world wars, and we greatly appreciate the great contribution that Serbs have made to American society in many areas.”

“We also appreciate our close cooperation in combating the COVID-19 pandemic, as together we face this unprecedented global challenge. “I look forward to cooperating with you in deepening friendly ties between our countries and strengthening relations between Serbia and the United States,” Biden said in this statement. /
